The following application note describes how to transfer the configuration data of your CIFX card from one computer to another.

Copy Firmware and Configuration

On your old computer, save the folders Channel 0-5 from "C: / Program Files / cifX Device Driver".

The name of the folder in which these are stored is made up of the article number_serial number of the CIFX card concerned.

If the slot selection switch is used, the folder of the corresponding slot must be saved.

Since entries must be made in the Registry, the files cannot simply be copied to the new computer.

Therefore, please use the "CIFX Setup" tool.

It is available in the control panel or in the folder: C:\Program Files\cifX Device Driver\cifXSetup.exe

Use this tool to create the file structure with the saved files for all channels (CH #?).

With a CIFX card, these are usually the firmware .nxf and the configuration files .nxd in CH0.

Confirm the entry of the firmware and configuration data with "Apply".

This way, the tool automatically copies the files into the selected channel folder and thus also sets the registry entries required by the driver.
