Q
Does a gateway provide non IP address based access using a hostname?
A
Any gateway provides a hostname using the UPnP services it can be identified with.
The hostname consist of a string of 14 characters in total. It starts with the two letters "NT" followed by a MAC address printed on the gateway's label. This makes the gateways' hostnames unqiue.
Example:
The label provides a MAC address of : 0002A233E569
The resulting Hostname is: NT0002A233E569
Knowing the hostname you can access this gateway without knowing its IP address: https://NT0002A233E569
