How to config netX90 protocol stack with database instead of packet commands?
As we all know, two methods are available to configure netX90 protocol stacks:
- Packet API based configuration by host application
- Database configuration (config.nxd) generated by the configuration tool
How can I download the NXD file?
Download NXD file using PC utility netHOST
Choose "Configuration Download" as the download mode, and download "CONFIG.NXD" and "NWID.NXD" (PNS) one after another to Channel 0(PROFINET IO Device).
After a system reset, the configuration files take effect, and the Profinet slave is configured.
You can check the downloaded NXD file using Device→File Explorer
Download NXD files using maintenance firmware(MFW)
It is also possible to download the NXD files together with the NXI firmware via firmware update(Firmware update).
Just put the NXD files in "fwupdate.zip" under VAR0\PORT_0\, and download the fwupdate.zip. After a successful firmware update reset, the configuration files are also loaded.
Note: Database configuration is only supported by use case C.
