Q

How to manage hardware configurations when updating the netX Studio CDT?

A

When you have updated a previous version of netX Studio CDT, you may not be able to open or build the hardware configuration file () directly.

If the hardware configuration is compatible, opening it in the hardware configuration editor will show a prompt to update it. In this case, you need to update the configuration to use it with this version of netX Studio CDT, but before that, it would be a good idea to make sure that it is under version control or that you have made a copy of it. This is because netX Studio CDT only supports backward compatibility of hardware configurations in one direction. If you want to downgrade netX Studio CDT, the updated configuration will no longer be compatible, and if you do not have a previous copy of the configuration, you have to create a new configuration from File > New > netX 90 Hardware Configuration.
