Description

The Open Modbus/TCP stack can be used with client or server functionality.

Configuration

The stack offers a mailbox interface for configuration. A configuration can be set using a Set Configuration packet.

Communication

As a client or as a server, the host application can use the mailbox interface to communicate to other Open Modbus/TCP devices using function codes.

Alternatively, the host application can access the input/output memory of the dual-port memory. As a client, the stack has to be configured using a command table. The stack then communicates automatically with other devices. As a server, the stack uses the input/output memory of the dual-port memory to exchange data with other devices.
