Q

Which Linux driver version do i need to use M.2 netX 90 based CIFX cards?

A

To use netX 90 based CIFX Cards using Linux, a Linux driver with version V2.0.0.0 or later is needed.

Since V2.0.1.0, an additional Kernel Module which needs to be installed, is provided in the driver package.

When using V2.0.0.0, the kernel modules need to be downloaded from the Hilscher Knowledge Base first.

V2.0.0.0 (NXDRVLINUX)

The Kernel Module enables the access to the M.2 CIFX via PCI Interface.

The M.2 Kernel Modules include an Readme file, with a step by step installation instruction.

Background

Since the netX 90 uses SPI, the M.2 CIFX Card uses an SPI to PCI converter.

An additional Kernel Module is needed for additional functions of the driver.

Therefore a different Kernel Module for the M.2 cards is needed, than for the "old" CifX cards with a different netX inside.
