What is the power button on the gateway doing when pushed?

When the power button on the gateway's front is pushed the gateway shuts down the operating system and quits all running services securely.
Using the power button ensures a safe shutdown of the running system and shall be the preferred method to stop the device's operation before the power is removed for example.
A wake up service such as Wake On LAN is not supported in this state.
Pressing the button again will initiate the boot sequence.
