netFIELD OS Edge
netFIELD OS Edge is the preferred runtime environment for making your edge devices centrally manageable with netFIELD Cloud. netFIELD OS Edge supports the full range of device management and container deployment functionality of netFIELD (see Overview - netFIELD OS Runtime Environments for a comparison of runtime environments).

Device Management
netFIELD OS Edge enables you to centrally manage your edge devices for your industrial IoT application.

- Onboard your edge devices to netFIELD cloud to manage and monitor them remotely

- Remotely deploy OS updates through netFIELD Cloud
Container Management
netFIELD OS Edge enables you to centrally manage your deployments of software containers to distributed edge devices.

- Remote deployment of software containers (Docker) to your edge device
- Remote updates of software containers
- Remote configuration of software containers
- Optional: container dashboards centrally presented in netFIELD Portal
IoT Data Management
netFIELD OS Edge enables you to configure the routing of your IoT data. You decide where which types of data are required.
netFIELD supports MQTT as IoT data protocol throughout the whole stack.
